Paul's Case in New York and Pittsburgh

Gregory Spears' celebrated opera Paul's Case, based on the Willa Cather short story, sees two performances to start 2014: in New York at the Prototype Festival, and in Pittsburgh at the Pittsburgh Opera. Paul's Case, which Spears developed with American Opera Projects, is produced by UrbanArias. The production has been hailed by the New York Times as a "sublime start" to the Prototype festival, and travels to Pittsburgh later in February.

Paul's Case is available from PSNY, as a vocal score and for full performance licensing. In addition to the full score, several arias from the opera are available as individual titles: "The English Teacher's Aria," "The Gauntlet's Been Thrown," and "The Red Carnation". Check out some scenes from the production!
