World Premiere Arrangement of Arvo Pärt's <em>Our Garden</em>

Eesti Ekspress, in cooperation with host Valter Soosalu and conductors Kadri Hund and Kaie Tanner, present an evening of children's songs on February 8 at the Alexela Concert Hall in Tallinn, Estonia, as the opening concert of the Arvo Pärt jubilee year, celebrating the prolific and renowned composer who will be 85 in 2020. Highlighting Arvo Pärt's versatility, this concert is designed to broaden the children's musical horizons and enhance their appreciation of composers of Classical music. The songs to be performed were primarily written for plays and cartoons created between 1956 and 1970. During the concert, children will be able to watch these cartoons set to Arvo Pärt's music. The performance includes the world premiere of an arrangement of Arvo Pärt's Our Garden by Tauno Aints. The  original version of the piecewritten for children's choir and orchestra, was composed in 1959 and revised in 2003.

Performers include the children's singing ensemble, Eesti Raadio Laste Laulustuudio, accompanied by an instrumental ensemble: Mari Poll, Triin Ruubel, Johanna Vahermägi, Andreas Lend, Siim Selis, Madis Metsamart, Momir Novakovic, Heikko Remmel, Meelis Vind, Madis Kari. Arvo Pärt's instrumental songs for children will be performed by young Estonian musicians: Uku Toots, Ingmar Poll, Theodor Teppo and Jana Potštarjova. Guest soloists include Susanna-Reti Räim and young dancers of the Estonian Dance Agency.
