Queensland Ballet Presents "Strictly Gershwin"

Queensland Ballet celebrates the opulence and romance of the golden age with a production of "Strictly Gershwin" featuring some of the greatest concert music by George Gershwin and songs by George and Ira Gershwin, among them Rhapsody in Blue, Summertime, Strike up the Band, Someone to Watch over Me, ‘S Wonderful, Shall We Dance, I Got Rhythm, and many more, culminating in a sparkling grand finale from An American in Paris. The production runs from September 28-October 7 at the Lyric Theatre, QPAC in South Brisbane, a fitting way to celebrate the 125th birthday of George Gershwin, taking place on September 26, 2023.

With music adapted by Gareth Valentine and choreography by Derek Deane, Strictly Gershwin was choreographed for the English National Ballet in 2008 and has been performed in cities worldwide since then. Queensland Ballet first performed "Strictly Gershwin" in 2016 to ravishing reviews.
