Orchestral Works by Grażyna Bacewicz Performed Throughout the US

Major works by Grażyna Bacewicz were performed by orchestras throughout the United States this summer. Marin Alsop led the Aspen Chamber Symphony in a performance of Bacewicz’s Music for Strings, Trumpets, and Percussion on July 1. Ruth Reinhardt led The Cleveland Orchestra in a performance of Bacewicz’s Overture on July 30 at the Blossom Music Center, and Bacewicz’s Concerto for String Orchestra was performed by the United States Marine Chamber Orchestrac, under the baton of 1st Lt. Darren Y. Lin, on July 23.
