INSIDE OUT Features the Piano Music of Alvin Singleton, Performed by Jackie Leung

Oct. 01, 2026

INSIDE OUT, the first album dedicated to all of Alvin Singleton’s solo piano works written between 1966–2022, is out now on Albany Records. The new recording features Canadian concert pianist, Jackie Leung who has become an ardent champion of Alvin Singleton's music, even editing an excellent edition of Mutations (1966) for solo piano.

With one foot in contemporary classical music and the other in jazz, Alvin Singleton’s ability to unify both have yielded a unique and highly-recognizable amalgam that is immediately audible in his piano works. Leung approaches each of his pieces with aplomb and a deep understanding and appreciation of Singleton's style.
