Performances of Kurt Weill's Die sieben Todsünden and The Threepenny Opera

Performances of Kurt Weill's <em>Die sieben Todsünden</em> and <em>The Threepenny Opera</em>

Three productions of Kurt Weill's Die sieben Todsünden appear on stages in Switzerland and Germany this month: January 7 at Staatstheater Braunschweig, in repertory through June 22; January 9 and 17 at Theater Rigiblick in Zürich, the third Weill production to be seen in that city since October; and January 21-18 at the Tanztheater Wuppertal, in a revival of the Pina Bausch production.

In addition, Weill's Symphony No. 2 can be heard at the Omaha Symphony on January 13, conducted by Enrico Lopez-Yañez and at the Orchestra Haydn di Bolzano e Trento on January 30 and 31, conducted by John Axelrod, while the Northern Ireland Opera presents The Threepenny Opera, directed by Walter Sutcliffe and conducted by Sinead Hayes in a performance run beginning January 27 and continuing through February 10.
