Dec. 23, 2025
On December 8 at the Musikverein, Ektoras Tartanis led the Wiener Akademische Philharmonie in the world premiere of his four-movement "Trojan Rhapsody" Ilion.
This work references to the great Homeric epic, "The Iliad" and describes in four movements the dramatic story of Troy in a rhapsodic way. Ancient Greek rhythms and melodies combine with the colors of a modern symphony orchestra and contemporary techniques.
