On April 6 Klangforum Wien presents Matthias Pintscher's Shining Forth for solo trumpet, featuring trumpeter Anders Nyqvist, at New York City's Austrian Cultural Forum. On April 25, Pintscher leads the Ensemble ACJW in his Carnegie Hall debut through his work Choc at Zankel Hall.
Apr. 02, 2009- Howard Goodall's choral piece Eternal Light: A Requiem, which continues to tour with the Rambert Dance Company in its successful choreographed version, is also available as a standalone concert piece and still awaits its US Premiere.
- Eliot Fisk and the American Composers Orchestra led by Dennis Russell Davies perform the New York premiere of Robert Beaser's Guitar Concerto, co-commissioned by the ACO, the Albany Symphony Orchestra, and the Brucknerhaus Orchester Linz. That same night ACO performs the US premiere of Thomas Larcher's piano concerto Boese Zellen.

The young Czech composer Miroslav Srnka has been awarded this year's Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation Composer's Prize and his new composition for winds and percussion will be performed at the award ceremony on May 15, 2009 in the Münchner Kammerspiele.
Apr. 01, 2009- Klangforum Wien performs the music of Beat Furrer, Morton Feldman and others paired with films by 20th-and 21st-century filmmakers on April 4 at Alice Tully Hall in their program Free Radicals. You can catch more of the music of Feldman and Furrer later this month at the Red Light New Music series concert at the Chelsea Art Museum on April 10.
