Miller Theatre Honors Pierre Boulez’s 85th Birthday with Composer Portrait Concert
Nov. 30, 2010On December 6 the Talea Ensemble and conductor James Baker perform five pieces by Pierre Boulez at Miller Theatre as the latest installment of Miller's Composer Portrait series in honor of the composer's 85th birthday.
The Kurt Weill Edition has just released its latest installment, Music with Solo Violin (Series II, Volume 2). Edited by Andreas Eichhorn (University of Cologne), the volume contains the full scores of the Concerto for Violin and Wind Orchestra and Der neue Orpheus.
Leoš Janáček's Glagolitic Mass is now available in a new version more closely allied with Janáček's original intentions, edited by Paul Wingfield. Pierre Boulez leads the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in performances on December 2 and 4.
