Zen-On Announces Their 29th “Groupe des Quatre et ses ami(e)s” Concert

Zen-On has announced that the 2023 "Groupe des Quatre ses ami(e)s” concert will take place on December 21, 2023 at 7:00 JST at Tokyo Bunka Kaikan, Recital Hall. This highly-anticipated annual concert series of contemporary music was created by Zen-On as a means of promoting and propagating works by contemporary composers. This unique ongoing project, solely organized and hosted by the music publishing house, will present its 29th concert this year. Zen-On will live-stream the concert. Details will be announced on their website shortly.
This year's program features the premiere performances of music by five esteemed composers. Shin-ichiro Ikebe's Chiro Soro Chirosoro for harmonica and piano will be performed by Yasuno Watani and Hisano Ishioka. Tokuhide Niimi's The Waste Land for piano and percussion will be performed by Toshio Nakagawa and Shinithi Ueno. Kei Yamazawa will perform Om Mani Padme for violoncello solo based on conceptualizations by the late Akira Nishimura, as well as A Song of Kalavinka, also by Nishimura. Hitomi Kaneko's Etoile - Composition par Modélisation 3D XV pour violon will be performed by Natsumi Tamai. Finally, Jun Nagao's Motus Animi for two saxophones will be performed by Shinichiro Hikosaka and Yuta Hikosaka.
