World Premiere of Matthew Hindson's <em>Concerto for Soprano Saxophone & Orchestra</em>

On August 25, the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Benjamin Northey, will give the world premiere of Matthew Hindson's Concerto for Soprano Saxophone & Orchestra, which was a commission from the orchestra. The captivating Australian saxophonist, Amy Dickson, is the soloist. A reporter for Scotland's The Herald enthused about Dickson's playing, "I have never heard saxophone playing so seductive and alluring." The premiere of Hindson's new saxophone concerto for Dickson is sure to be a highlight of the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra's 2019 season.
