World Premiere of Keiko Harada's Hen-Puu with Ensemble Modern and Toho Gakuen Orchestra

On October 27, the Suntory Foundation of the Arts presents a major orchestral portrait concert of works by Keiko Harada as part of its annual “Profile of a Composer” concert series. The series, now in its 34th year, was founded as a means of introducing outstanding works by contemporary Japanese composers to the public. This year’s program features the world premiere of a new orchestral work by Harada, Hen-Puu, commissioned by the Suntory Foundation, and performed by the Toho Gakuen Orchestra and members of Ensemble Modern, conducted by Ken-ichi Nakagawa.

Also featured on the program is the premiere of Harada’s Piano Concerto, alongside her 2003 orchestral work Third Ear Deaf III, also commissioned by the Suntory Music Foundation. The performance takes place at the Suntory Hall in Tokyo, Japan.
