World Premiere of Andrea Lorenzo Scartazzini's Orkus in Germany

The Jenaer Philharmonie, under the baton of Simon Gaudenz, performed two works by their composer-in-residence, Andrea Lorenzo Scartazzini. On May 12, the orchestra played Omen for orchestra and gave the world premiere perofrmance of Orkus for orchestra. The works were paired with Mahler's Symphony No. 7. Beginning in the 2018-19 season, Scartazzini has written a new work to be performed alongside a corresponding Mahler symphony. These premieres have been given by he Jenaer Philharmonie and conductor Simon Gaudenz.
