World Premiere of Adam's Passion – Arvo Pärt and Robert Wilson
May. 05, 2015

On May 12, the Noblessner Foundry in Tallinn, Estonia hosts the world premiere of Adam’s Passion, a music theater production by renowned avant-garde stage director Robert Wilson based on the music of Arvo Pärt. This monumental collaboration between Pärt and Wilson features the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Tõnu Kaljuste, dancers Lucinda Childs and Michael Theophanous, and costumes by Carlos Soto.
As part of the production, Pärt has incorporated three major works—Adam’s Lament, Tabula Rasa and Miserere—and has also composed a new work, Sequentiae, specifically for the occasion. A documentary exploring the collaboration between the two artists as well as a feature film of the production are being creating by Estonian Public Broadcasting and Accentus Music. Both the documentary and concert film will premiere internationally in time for Arvo Pärt’s 80th birthday this September.
Details on the production can be found at adamspassion.com.
