UK Premiere of Jay Schwartz's <em>Delta - Music for Orchestra IV</em> with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra

Jay Schwartz’s Delta – Music for Orchestra IV receives its UK premiere this month in a performance by the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Matthias Pintscher. The performance takes place January 9 at the Glasgow City Halls. 

Delta - Music for Orchestra IV, which was commissioned by the Südwestrundfunk, had its premiere with the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra in 2014, conducted by Johannes Kalitzke. Schwartz explains that the work “experiments with the phenomena of periodicity and synchronicity of pendulums and waves and in this way again combines my affinity for physics with the poetic and aesthetic dimensions of sound.”
