Kurt Weill on Three Continents

2016 comes to a close with world-class performances of Weill favorites throughout the month. To start things off, violinist Anthony Marwood performed Weill’s Violin Concerto with the Real Filharmonía de Galicia in Santiago de Compostela, Spain on December 1. Fresh off her concerts in London, Storm Large joined Leonard Slatkin and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra for two performances of The Seven Deadly Sins on December 2 and 3. Ute Lemper performed Weill songs at the Centro Cultural Kirchner in Buenos Aires on December 3, with three sold-out performances at the Café Sabarsky in New York, December 8-10. Ending the year on a high note, conductor HK Gruber and soprano Tora Augestad put their Weill expertise to work performing Weill songs in a New Year’s Eve concert with the Bamberger Symphoniker.
