Re:ensemble Gives the German Premiere of Pierre Jalbert's String Theory

On April 6, re:ensemble performed the German premiere of Pierre Jalbert's String Theory. Led by Kate Maloney, the ensemble performed String Theory alongside works by other American composers, including George Lewis, Caroline Shaw, and Nico Muhly, as part of a program titled, "New American Chamber Music".

String Theory is also the titular work of an excellent new recording featuring the music of Pierre Jalbert. The disc, released by Orchid Classics last year includes Pierre Jalbert's String Theory, Autumn Rhapsody, Elegy, String Quartet No. 3, and In Terra with performances by Kinetic (Natalie Lin Douglas, Artistic Director), The Maia Quartet, and the Shepherd School Symphony Orchestra (Larry Rachleff, Music Director).
