Posthumous Publication of Toshiro Mayuzumi's Divertimento
Dec. 01, 2020
On December 15, Zen-On will publish Toshiro Mayuzumi's Divertimento for ten instruments. Toshiro Mayuzumi (1929-1997) graduated from the Tokyo Music School - now Tokyo University of the Arts - in 1949. This early work was performed as part of his graduation project. It was also performed on various other occasions, and the release of this work on LP made the young composer widely known. Influenced by modern French composers, Divertimento demonstrates great sophistication and has a sense of esprit. View sample pages from this new publication here.
