Aug. 01, 2023

The Yamagata Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Keitaro Harada, performed the world premiere of Motoki Ueda's Dreams of Vague Memories at the Tsuruoka Art Culture Terrace in Yamagata on August 5.

On August 23, Keitaro Harada leads the Aichi Chamber Orchestra in the world premiere of Motoki Ueda's Reliving the Imagination at Shirakawa Hall in Aichi.

Born in 1998, Motoki Ueda studied at Tokyo College of Music where, as a scholarship student, he was awarded the 17th Prize of the President of Tokyo College of Music.

In 2022, Ueda was selected to take part in the New Works Challenge Project 2022 planned by the conductor Keitarō Harada for a series of children’s concerts organized by the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra and Suntory Hall. Since then he has expanded his range of activities to include commissions for new works from the Yamagata Symphony Orchestra and the Aichi Chamber Orchestra.

He has studied composition with Chiaki Katō, Sunao Isaji, Sho Ueda, Norihiko Ōmi and Akira Nishimura, and is currently a lecturer at the Viel Spass Music School.
