New York City Opera Opens Season With American Voices Featuring Special Guest Rufus Wainwright

New York City Opera opens its season on November 5 as it returns to the newly renovated David H. Koch Theater of Lincoln Center with their program American Voices. A star-studded concert is planned with performances by Measha Brueggergosman, Amy Burton, Joyce Castle, Anna Christy, Joyce DiDonato, Lauren Flanigan, Anthony Dean Griffey, Marc Kudisch, Samuel Ramey, and Talise Trevigne. The program includes selections from American opera and musical theater featuring works by Barber, Bernstein, Bolcom, Floyd, Gershwin, Golijov, and Stravinsky. The evening will also include a performance by special guest Rufus Wainwright and dancers from the New York City Ballet appear in an excerpt from Adams's Hallelujah Junction.
