Matthias Pintscher Performances Throughout December
Nov. 30, 2011

December brings a wealth of performances of works by Matthias Pintscher all over the world, from Ann Arbor to Paris. The London Philharmonic Orchestra performs his towards Osiris first on November 30 at the Royal Festival Hall in London, then on December 6 at the Hill Auditorium in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and finally at Carnegie Hall in New York on December 7. All three performances are conducted by Vladimir Jurowski. Watch Matthias discuss this work here.
Also in December, Matthias Pintscher himself conducts the ensemble intercontemporain at the Festival d’automne-Cite de la Musique in Paris on December 15, featuring soloist Leigh Melrose, in his recent work, songs from Solomon’s garden. This work was commissioned by the New York Philharmonic for the orchestra's Contact! series and premiered in New York in 2010 featuring baritone Thomas Hampson. More from the composer, here.
