Kurt Weill Performances Around the World

The music of Kurt Weill travels the world in November with performances of several beloved works around the globe.

Victorian Opera in Melbourne, Australia performs Kurt Weill’s Die sieben Todsünden (The Seven Deadly Sins) on November 6, conducted by Tahu Matheson and featuring performance artist Meow Meow as Anna I. Then in Oslo, Norway, Den Norske Opera & Ballett performs Der Jasager, November 11 through 17. Closer to home, Street Scene opens at Peabody Institute in Baltimore for two performances, November 13 and 15. The ever popular Die Dreigroschenoper runs on three stages simultaneously in Germany: Theater Baden-Baden, running November 13 to January 15; Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden, November 13 to December 28; and the Berliner Ensemble continue their successful run on November 14 and 15, with more performances to come in December. Next, the Orquesta Filarmónica de la UNAM in Mexico City, performs Die sieben Todsünden (The Seven Deadly Sins), under the baton of Jan Latham-König, November 14. And finally Opéra Éclaté of Clermont-Ferrand, France, takes L’opéra de quat’sous (The Threepenny Opera) on tour throughout France, beginning November 28.
