Just Announced: Zen-On's 2022 Contemporary Music Concert “Groupe des Quatre et ses ami(e)s”

Zen-On has announced that the 2022 "Groupe des Quatre ses ami(e)s” concert will take place on December 9, 2022. This annual concert series of contemporary music was created by Zen-On as a means of promoting and propagating works by contemporary composers. This unique ongoing project, solely organized and hosted by the music publishing house, will present its 28th concert this year.
This year's program features ithe premiere performances of music by esteemed composers Shin-ichiro Ikebe, Tokuhide Niimi, Akira Nishimura, Hitomi Kaneko, and Joe Hisaishi as a guest composer. Acclaimed musicians, renowned in Japan and internationally, will perform five commissioned pieces, including Shin-ichiro Ikebe's Bivalence XVII for two trombones, performed by Kousei Murata and Tomohiko Iida; Tokuhide Niimi's Soul Dance for baritone and piano, performed by baritone Takashi Matsudaira and pianist Toshio Nakagawa; Akira Nishimura's Kirtimukha for euphonium and marimba, performed by Shoichiro Hokazono, euphonium, and Tomohiro Nishikubo, marimba; Hitomi Kaneko's Carbonic acid - Composition by 3D Modeling XI for ondes martenot and trombone, performed by Motoko Oya (ond.m), and Kousei Murata (tbn); and Joe Hisaishi's Shaking Anxiety and Dreamy Globe for two cellos, performed by Rentaro Tomioka and Nobuo Furukawa.
