Julian Anderson Joins Schott
Sep. 08, 2014

Schott Music is pleased to announce a new exclusive publishing agreement with Julian Anderson, one of the foremost composers of our time. Schott will publish Anderson’s future works beginning with his Violin Concerto, to be premiered on March 14, 2015 by Carolin Widmann and the London Philharmonic Orchestra under Vladimir Jurowski. Anderson’s catalogue of works up to 2014 remains with Faber Music, and both publishers will work together closely on the overall promotion of Anderson’s music. As rental agent for Faber Music in North America, Schott|EAM will continue to represent Anderson's complete catalogue.
Anderson’s upcoming projects include a new work for the Nash Ensemble and the Talea Ensemble, a work for solo guitar, a Piano Concerto, and a further orchestral work. Following its world premiere, the Violin Concerto will also enjoy national premieres in Germany by the Deutsche Symphonie Orchester and in the US by the Seattle Symphony.
Julian Anderson comments:
I am very excited to be starting a new relationship with Schott Music. The catalogue contains many composers whose music I love such as Zimmermann, Ligeti and Henze and I admire the firm’s strong commitment to the promotion of contemporary music on an international scale. I am looking forward to working with the teams in London, Mainz, New York and Tokyo and to a fruitful and enriching long term collaboration.
Sam Rigby, Creative Director of Schott Music London, remarks:
We are delighted to begin this relationship with Julian Anderson, whose orchestral, operatic and chamber works over the last two decades have earned him a position as one of the most highly respected figures in today’s classical music world. There are a number of exciting projects on the horizon, and my colleagues and I very much look forward to working with Julian and his wonderful music in the many years to come.
