Julian Anderson in Residence at NEC's Summer Institute for Contemporary Performance Practice

Julian Anderson joins New England Conservatory’s Summer Institute for Contemporary Performance Practice (SICPP) 2018 as its featured composer-in-residence. Founded by Artistic Director Stephen Drury, SICPP is a music festival concentrating solely on contemporary music performance and pratice. The eight-day intensive provides opportunities for fellow composers and performers to interact one-on-one with Anderson and to be fully immersed with new music through a series of masterclasses, rehearsals, and workshops.

Concerts take place from June 17-22 in Jordan Hall. Callithumpian Consort, the ensemble-in-residence, performs Anderson's Book of Hours and Van Gogh Blue and Thomas Adés’s Arcadiana on June 20 followed by Julian Anderson’s String Quartet No. 2, Seadrift, and Tombeau on June 21 and finally Anderson’s The Bearded Lady, Another Prayer, and Capriccio on June 22.
