Joe Hisaishi Appointed “Composer in Residence and Music Partner” at the New Japan Philharmonic

On September 1, Joe Hisaishi assumed the position of "Composer in Residence and Music Partner" at the New Japan Philharmonic. Joe Hisaishi and New Japan Philharmonic have collaborated many times since 1991, including for the New Japan Philharmonic World Dream Orchestra.  Together they have shared the splendor of creative music, regardless of its genre, in Japan and throughout the world.  With Hisaishi’s newly appointed role, they look forward to further musical and creative possibilities.

As the Composer in Residence and Music Partner, Joe Hisaishi will compose new works for the New Japan Philharmonic, and in addition, will direct and perform with the ensemble, advise the New Japan Philharmonic on their 50-year anniversary subscription concert series and other concerts, and support their musical activities.
