“George Perle Solos and Duos” has been released by Bridge Records. Among the remarkable milestones of George Perle’s compositional journey are his works for solo instruments. The earliest work included in this collection was composed in 1943, with another eleven pieces written across the span of his long and distinguished career. This two-disc set includes many of the solo works in their first recordings, as well as duo works from throughout the great American composer's career. George Perle’s compositions on this recording include: Nine Bagatelles and Musical Offerings for solo piano, Sonata for cello and piano, and Bassoon Music for solo bassoon.
“George Perle Solos and Duos” features a roster of acclaimed performers including pianists Leon Fleisher, Richard Goode, and Horacio Gutierrez, clarinetist Charles Neidich, and cellist Jay Campbell, among others.
