As its summer season draws to a close, the Aspen Music Festival and School presentsseveral key works from our catalog. On August 10, James Conlon leads the Aspen Chamber Symphony in the United States premiere of a suite from the Czech composer and pianist Erwin Schulhoff's (1894 - 1942) rhythmically driven ballet on a Mexican legend, Ogelala. On August 12, Tobias Picker's first opera Emmeline is presented in the annual Opera Scenes Master Class. George Manahan conducts and Edward Berkeley leads the masterclass. Later that day the United States premiere of Arvo Prt L'abbe Agathon for four violas and four celli is given at a chamber music concert in Harris Concert Hall.
