Aranjuez Launches New Historic Routes Honoring Josquín Rodrigo in Celebration of the 125th Anniversary of his Birth

The Spanish city of Aranjuez recently launched a tourism branding project at the International Tourism Fair (FITUR), held from January 21-25, 2026. The project aimed to give the town, for the first time, its own brand image as a tourist destination. The city's slogan "Treat yourself to Aranjuez," is "an invitation to give yourself an unforgettable moment in a city where history, art and nature coexist in perfect harmony."

As part of this initiative, the City Council of Aranjuez announced that in commemoration of the 125th anniversary of the Joaquín Rodrigo’s birth, they have creating new touristic routes revolving around the figure of the composer. This initiative is especially fitting, given that Rodrigo's most famous and beloved concerto bears the city's name.
