World Premieres of Works by Georg Friedrich Haas with Ensemble ACJW and the Berlin Philharmonic

Several important performances of works by Georg Friedrich Haas take place across the world this month, including the world premieres of Anachronism, for chamber ensemble, and dark dreams, for orchestra.
On February 14, Ensemble ACJW gives the premiere of Haas's Anachronism as part of Carnegie Hall’s “Vienna: City of Dreams” Festival. Commissioned by Carnegie Hall, the premiere takes place at the Arthur Zankel Music Center at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York. The ensemble delivers the New York City premiere on February 28 at Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall. The Vienna Festival continues on February 28 with a performance of Haas’s Monodie by Jeffrey Milarsky and the Juilliard AXIOM Ensemble. The performance takes place at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall and also features a performance of Oliver Knussen’s Two Organa, Op. 27.
Commissioned by the Berlin Philharmonic Foundation in partnership with Carnegie Hall, Haas's new work for orchestra, dark dreams, receives its premiere by Simon Rattle and the Berlin Philharmonic on February 20. The performance takes place at the Berlin Philharmonie with subsequent performances on February 21 and 22.
