Jay Schwartz’s <em>Zwielicht</em> Debuts in Switzerland

Jay Schwartz’s new work Zwielicht, for three trombones, chorus, organ and dancers, premieres at the Gallen Festival in Switzerland on June 27. The title Zwielicht concerns itself with the phenomena of the transformation between different times, but also between life and the afterlife and the boundaries between light and darkness. The question of "what is Sacred music?" hangs in the room, as Marco Santi uses the movement of the dancers in an attempt to answer. Schwartz conducts the performance which features organist Willibald Guggenmos and choreography by Marco Santi.
