Here to Stay: The Gershwin Concert Experience Thrills Audiences Across the US

The Omaha Symphony presents Here To Stay: The Gershwin Concert Experience this month, becoming just the most recent in a long line of presenters who have produced this concert event to great success including the Minnesota Orchestra, the Nashville Symphony, the Columbus Symphony and many others. A unique concert event that offers an immersive and engaging evening of the music of George and Ira Gershwin, Here to Stay is an unforgettable multimedia tribute to the lives of these two pillars of American music through the use of state of the art visual elements, rare photos, video clips and thrilling performances by the leading Gershwin interpreter Kevin Cole, Grammy award-winning soprano Sylvia McNair, and tap dancing sensation Ryan Van Den Boom. Performances include Rhapsody in Blue, I Got Rhythm, Strike Up the Band, The Man I Love, ‘S Wonderful and many more classic Gershwin songs. Here to Stay was a marvelous pops concert last night by the Columbus Symphony in the Ohio Theatre. Not only were the songs and symphonic selections outstanding, but it was a full-on multimedia presentation that gave the packed house some insights into the musical genius of brothers George and Ira Gershwin… An overhead camera captured Cole’s fingers as they walked, crossed and danced over the keys, which gave the audience a finer appreciation for his skill as a pianist…  Van Den Boom was terrific, floating on his feet like Fred Astaire, McNair had a lovely voice on The Man I Love and Summertime.


Here to Stay has sold out every house in which it has been produced, and provides audiences a thrilling opportunity to experience the Gershwin legacy from a brand new and intimate perspective.
