2017 Grammy Award Nominations
Dec. 07, 2016

We’re proud to note several of our Schott | EAM composers among the nominees for the 59th Annual Grammy Awards. Of particular note, the Los Angeles Philharmonic's monumental recording of Frank Zappa's 200 MOTELS - The Suites has been nominated in the category of "Best Classical Compendium." The album, a recording of the LA Phil's 2013 semi-staged performance, includes photographic documentation of the concert along with essays by Gail Zappa and her co-producer, Frank Filipetti, as well as reminiscences by director James Darrah and several of the performers. In his review of the performance for the Los Angeles Times, Mark Swed hailed the concert for conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen's "laser-like focus" and the orchestra which "nailed the score spectacularly."
