Richard Addinsell
Biography
Richard Addinsell is best remembered as a composer for British cinema, beginning with his score for the Oscar-winning Goodbye, Mr Chips in 1939. He went on to write for West End shows like Tuppence Coloured and Penny Plain, although his most successful work was the Warsaw Concerto for piano and orchestra, featured in the film Dangerous Moonlight. Addinsell scored a wide variety of films, including Fire over England, Tom Brown's Schooldays, Beau Brummel, Gaslight, Love on the Dole, Life at the Top, The Prince and the Showgirl, and Waltz of the Toreadors.
