Biography
Mario Lombardo is a composer of more than 200 songs, 6 musicals, and many works for piano, chorus, concert band, chamber works, and orchestra. His music has been performed by the orchestras of Chicago, Boston, Detroit, Cincinnati, New Jersey, and numerous orchestras in the U.S. and Europe. His Variations in a Mod Mood, Symphonic Ode, Revival, and symphonic tale for children Drakestail have enjoyed international success, and the Concerto for Oboe and Orchestra has been recorded twice. Among his compositions are Rhapsody for Oboe and Orchestra, Serenade for Violin and Orchestra, Three Psalms of David for chorus and orchestra, Blue Interlude for clarinet and orchestra, Gavotte for oboe and strings, Elegy for viola and strings, and Near Nostalgia and Late Autumn, both for violin and strings. Other works include pieces for orchestra, piano, tenor voice and piano, oboe and piano, violin and piano, and oboe and strings.
