World Premiere of Howard Shore's The Return of the King: Live to Projection in Lucerne, Switzerland

Jan. 26, 2010

On February 5, Howard Shore sees the world premiere of the Academy Award-winning music from The Return of the King: Live to Projection, completing the composer's epic The Lord of the Rings: Live to Projection series. A truly unique live-cinema concert experience, the score to The Return of the King is performed alongside a projection of Peter Jackson's award-winning film in its entirety at KKL Lucerne and features conductor Ludwig Wicki leading the 21st-Century Symphony Orchestra & Chorus with soloist Kaitlyn Lusk. The concert run includes five additional performances on February 6, 7 and 8 and March 17 and 18.

The music of The Lord of the Rings continues to engage audiences the world over and is set to return this year to New York City on October 8 and 9, 2010 as The Two Towers: Live to Projection debuts at Radio City Music Hall.

Shore's rich, sweeping score combines the full force of orchestral colors and textures with an accessibility of melody and motive. As a musical interpretation of J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth, the composer's vision does justice to the vast array of characters and cultures by instilling an immediacy and sincerity of purpose into every note. This score has received numerous awards including two Oscars, two Grammys, and two Golden Globes.

Music from The Lord of the Rings is published by New Line Tunes and available for rental from Schott Music Corporation/European American Music Distributors LLC. For rental or promotional inquiries write to info@eamdllc.com.
