Howard Goodall Conducts the World Premiere of <em>Christmas Cantata</em> in Houston, Texas

Howard Goodall conducts the world premiere performances of his Christmas Cantata on December 15 at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Houston, Texas.  Christmas Cantata, a seven-movement work compiled by the composer for the choirs of St. Luke’s UMC, is written for soprano solo, children’s choir, SATB choir, organ, and chamber orchestra. Last year, St. Luke's UMC commissioned and presented the world premiere of Howard Goodall's oratorio, Invictus: A Passion.

The movements of Goodall's Christmas Cantata include: Romance of the Angels; Romance of the Epiphany; It Came Upon a Midnight Clear; Stella, Quam Viderant Magi; Lullaby of Winter; To See Another Sun; and I Am Christmas Day. The vocal score will be published in time for Christmas 2020, and will be available for performance by other choirs from 2020.
