World Premiere of Gavin Bryars's String Quartet No. 5 at Music at Malling

The Smith Quartet and soprano Else Torp performed the world premiere of Gavin Bryars's String Quartet No. 5 on September 27 at Malling Abbey as part of the Music at Malling series. This quartet, performed alongside quartets by Schubert and Schoenberg, includes songs set to texts by the great Italian poet, Petrarch.
