World Premiere and Tour of Julian Anderson's String Quartet No. 4 by the Belcea Quartet

The Belcea Quartet gave the world premiere performance of Julian Anderson's String Quartet No. 4 on January 20 at the Grand Auditorium of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon. The Quartet will tour the work in Europe, presenting multiple regional premieres: the UK Premiere on January 24 at Wigmore Hall, London; the Danish Premiere on February 14 at Mogens Dahl Koncertsal, Copenhagen; the German Premiere on February 16 at the Elbphilharmonie, Hamburg; the Austrian Premiere on February 21 at the Wiener Konzerthause, Vienna; the Irish Premiere on February 24 at the National Concert Hall, Dublin, and in Berlin on February 25 at the Pierre Boulez Saal. The US premiere will take place at the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival in 2025.
Anderson's String Quartet No. 4 was commissioned by the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, Mogens Dahl Koncertsal, Wiener Konzerthaus, Wigmore Hall, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, the National Concert Hall Ireland and Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival.
