Walter Aaron Clark's Joaquín Rodrigo: A Research and Information Guide Receives the Music Library Association's Vincent H. Duckles Award

Walter Aaron Clark’s book Joaquín Rodrigo: A Research and Information Guide, published by Routledge, has received the prestigious Vincent H. Duckles Award from the Music Library Association for the best book-length bibliography or reference work published in 2021. In assessing Clark's book, the Publication Awards Committee concluded that it "provides a boisterous overview of Rodrigo’s oeuvre. Clark skillfully crafts the guide with an expert sense of musicological research and organization, serving as a definitive source for those seeking further study or inspiration into the composer's work. As you read, you will instantly sense Clark’s deep understanding of Spanish music and cultural scholarship as the resource presents concise and illustrious information related to Rodrigo’s multi-faceted career. Walter Aaron Clark is Distinguished Professor of Musicology at the University of California, Riverside, where he founded and directs the Center for Iberian and Latin American Music. In 2016, King Felipe VI of Spain conferred on him the title of Knight Commander of the Order of Isabel the Catholic, in recognition of his promotion of Spanish music and culture.
