yMusic Plays the World Premiere of Andrew Norman's <em>Difference</em> at UMS

On November 1, yMusic gave the world premiere of Andrew Norman's Difference at the the University of Michigan's Rackham Auditorium in Ann Arbor. The new work, scored for six instruments, was co-commissioned by Carnegie Hall, Duke Performances at Duke University, University Musical Society at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and Cal Performances, University of California, Berkeley. 

Andrew Norman's Switch for percussion and orchestra, receives its German premiere from the Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz led by Michael Francis and featuring soloist Colin Currie, on November 9 and on November 20, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, led by Gustavo Dudamel, performs the UK premiere of Andrew Norman's Sustain, which the LAPhil commissioned and premiered last season on the opening concerts of their 100th Anniversary year. 

Finally, the Australian Chamber Orchestra, led by Richard Tognetti performs the Australian premiere of Andrew Norman's Gran Turismo for eight virtuoso violinists on November 9 with additional performances on November 10-22.
