Trondheim Sinfonietta Celebrates the Music of Frank Zappa

On November 1, The Trondheim Sinfonietta presented an evening dedicated to the music of Frank Zappa at Rockheim Trondheim in Norway. The program included a concert, presentation, and conversation exploring the work of Frank Zappa and his friendship with Norwegian composer Arne Nordheim. Hosted by Jon Andreas Håtun (known popularly by his stage name Jono el Grande) and conducted by Halldis Rønning, the concert featured six of Zappa’s chamber and orchestral works, including The Perfect Stranger, Dog Breath Variations/Uncle Meat, Outrage at Valdez, None of the Above, Times Beach II and III, and G-Spot Tornado.

Other Zappa performances this month include Dog Breath Variations at Arizona State University on November 5, G-Spot Tornado with Christian Reif leading the New World Symphony on November 14, and Dog Breath Variations at Northwestern University on November 24.
