Tobias Picker Named Composer in Residence at Bard Conductors Institute

http://www.eamdllc.com/images/composers/picker_tobias100px.jpgTobias Picker takes up the position of Composer in Residence at this year’s Conductors Institute at Bard College, New York. The internationally acclaimed teaching institute, founded and directed by Harold Farberman, runs June 25 to August 3 and offers four courses for all levels of conducting ability. Mr. Picker will hold his position for the duration of the Conducting Program for Fellows and Colleagues from July 2 until July 27. During this time Mr. Picker will work closely with the Institute Orchestra as they study and perform his work And Suddenly it’s Evening, a work which was commissioned by a consortium of youth orchestras including San Francisco, Boston, Cleveland, Chicago and St. Louis.
