Music of Schwantner and Henze Earn Grammy Nominations

The 2011 Grammy nominations are out, and we are proud to announce the Nashville Symphony Orchestra’s Naxos recording of Joseph Schwantner’s Concerto for Percussion and Orchestra has been nominated for Best Instrumental Solo. Released this past summer, the disc features Maestro Giancarlo Guerrero and percussionist Christopher Lamb, and also includes performances of Schwantner’s Chasing Light… and Morning’s Embrace. The album was released on Naxos' American Classics series, order your copy here.

Hans Werner Henze’s symphonies 3-5 highlight the nominees in the Best Orchestral Performance category. The Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin's WERGO recording, conducted by Marek Janowski, earned the nomination. Purchase the album here.
