Sarah Rothenberg's Album, "In Darkness and Light" Features Vijay Iyer's For My Father

This month saw the second release from the newly-launched DACAMERA Editions label: In Darkness and Light, a recital disc by Sarah Rothenberg, offers a fascinating musical response to the COVID era, a time of alternate extremes of anxiety and stillness.

The album opens with the premiere recording of Vijay Iyer’s elegiac For My Father, composed for Rothenberg in memory of the composer's father, Dr. Yegnaswami Raghunathan. Listen to an excerpt from the album here.

Crown Thy Good/Vijay Iyer/Min Kwon, piano

Min Kwon will perform Iyer's Crown Thy Good alongside other "America/Beautiful" compositions, including the NY premiere of Pierre Jalbert's Endeavor and Huang Ruo's Meditation, on June 22 as part of the Chelsea Music Festival.
