Ryan Wigglesworth's Quatre Vignettes de Jules Renard Premieres at the Aldeburgh Festival

Ryan Wigglesworth led the Knussen Chamber Orchestra and baritone Roderick Williams in the premiere performance of his song cycle, Quatre Vignettes de Jules Renard on June 21 at Snape Maltings Concert Hall as part of the Aldeburgh Festival who commissioned the work. Set to four poems by Jules Renard, this playful piece charmingly depicts a series of animal adventues with hens, toads, and grasshoppers prominently featured and characterized in music.
