Richard Dünser's Entreacte Premiered in Austria

Richard Dünser's Entreacte Premiered in Austria

On December 12, Klavierduo Silver Garburg (comprised of pianists Sivan Silver and Gil Garburg), perform the world premiere of Richard Dünser's Entreacte for piano four-hands in Linz. Entreacte was originially composed in 2014 for ensemble or chamber orchestra. It was commissioned by Neue Oper Wien for an evening of musical theatre with Schönberg’s The Book of the Hanging Gardens (in Dünser's orchestration) and his monodrama Erwartung, and "was written to create a transition for the audience from the hanging gardens to the forest of Erwartung: quasi a path from the one emotional and musical landscape to the other. There are reminiscences and déjà-vu experiences in the transformation, as in a daydream-like stream of consciousness, musically designed as allusions to both works, perhaps audible but definitely perceptible."

Listen to Richard Dünser's arrangement of String Quartet No. 2, Op. 15: I. Sehr massig by Alexander Zelmlinksy:
