Pierre Jalbert's Piano Quintet Debuts with Jupiter Quartet and Bernadette Harvey; Les espaces infinis with California Symphony

On March 19, the Tucson Winter Chamber Music Festival presents the world premiere of Pierre Jalbert’s Piano Quintet, featuring the Jupiter String Quartet and pianist Bernadette Harvey. The work was commissioned by the Arizona Friends of Chamber Music along with the La Jolla Music Society and the Chamber Music Society of Fort Worth.

Also on March 19, the California Symphony gives a performance of Jalbert’s Les espaces infinis, led by Donato Cabrera at the Lesher Center for the Arts in Walnut Creek, CA. The work, which was premiered by the Albany Symphony in 2001, is a meditation on the nature of time and space, evoking, as Jalbert writes, “a sense of spaciousness and timelessness.”
