Organist Christopher Houlihan Debuts Hannah Lash's <em>Ludus</em>

On June 14, celebrated American concert organist Christopher Houlihan gives the world premiere of Hannah Lash’s new work for solo organ, Ludus. The performance takes place at Jacoby Hall of the Times Union Center for the Performing Arts in Jacksonville, Florida, as part of the Southeast Regional Convention of the American Guild of Organists

Ludus was commissioned by David Emery, in memory of Professor C. Edward Bryan, for the 2017 AGO Southeast Regional Convention. Houlihan gives the work's New York premiere on June 23 as part of a recital at the Church of the Holy Apostles.

This summer, Lash joins the players of the Chamber Music Northwest’s 2017 Summer Festival for the world premiere of Form and Postlude, a new work for flute, clarinet, harp and string quartet. The premiere takes place July 13 in Portland, Oregon, as part of the festival’s summer-long celebration of female composers. Lash discusses her work in an interview with the festival, below:
