New Wayne McGregor Ballet Set to Mark-Anthony Turnage's Blood on the Floor

L’Anatomie de la Sensation pour Francis Bacon, a new ballet by renowned choreographer Wayne McGregor, premieres on June 29, 2011, at the Paris Opera Ballet. This new work is set to Mark Anthony Turnage’s Blood on the Floor, a brutally powerful high octane fusion of jazz and classical styles, which itself takes its name from a Francis Bacon painting. The premiere run of this ballet is performed by the Ensemble Intercontemporain conducted by Peter Rundel, featuring Peter Erskine, Martin Robertson, John Parricelli, and Michel Benita as jazz soloists.
